Nine steps from sign-up to squad lock
Sign in on app
Open app and sign in. Existing users land on the contest list; new users complete account creation first. Verify the sign-in state on app before continuing.
Pick a match
Pick the match from the contest list. Each match carries its own contest list, format tiles and squad lock time. Verify the squad lock time on app before starting the squad build.
Pick a contest format
Practice, H2H, Mega League or practice-only. Each format carries its own entry bound, leaderboard size and captain multiplier. Compare formats on the contest formats.
Build the squad
Pick 11 players from the match's roster. The squad must respect the credit cap and the role cap. The credit cap is set by the operator; verify on app. The role cap limits the number of batters, bowlers, all-rounders and wicketkeepers.
Verify role cap
Role cap: maximum batters, bowlers, all-rounders and wicketkeepers. Verify the role cap on app. The captain armband can be assigned to any player; vice-captain to a different player.
Pick the captain
The captain armband carries the multiplier shown on the scoring table. Walk the captain pick ledger before locking. Verify recent form on the BCCI / IPL feed.
Pick the vice-captain
The vice-captain armband carries the lower multiplier. Pick a player whose form is reliable. Verify on app.
Confirm the squad
Confirm the squad on app. The confirmation screen shows the credit spend, the role balance and the captain / vice-captain picks. Verify each before locking.
Wait for squad lock
Squad lock follows the toss. The squad cannot be edited after lock. The captain and vice-captain picks carry through to the live scoring feed.

Common squad build mistakes
Over-spending on credits
The credit cap is the most common squad build failure. Spending too many credits on the captain pick leaves too few for the depth picks. Balance the credit spend across the XI.
Wrong role cap
The role cap is the second most common failure. Building a squad that over-indexes on batters and leaves the bowling thin will lose to a balanced XI. Verify the role cap on app.
Captain pick without form read
Locking the captain armband without verifying recent form is the third most common failure. Recent form is read against the most recent completed series on the BCCI / IPL feed. Verify before locking.
Late squad lock
Squad lock follows the toss. Editing the squad after lock is impossible. Build the squad ahead of the toss and lock early.
What the squad build does not cover
The squad build covers the eleven players, the credit cap and the role cap. It does not cover in-match substitutions, league-format substitution rules, or contest-specific override rules. Verify each on app before the contest.
The squad build also does not cover the captain pick decision. The captain pick decision lives on the captain pick ledger. Walk the captain pick ledger before the squad build; the squad build sets the ceiling; the captain pick sets the multiplier.
Practice contests
Practice contests cost nothing and use the same scoring table. Use practice contests to rehearse the squad build and the captain pick before any paid contest. The practice leaderboard is solo and resets with each match.
Live feed and squad lock
The squad lock time follows the toss. The live feed carries the toss decision. Verify the toss on app before the squad lock time. The squad cannot be edited after lock. Build the squad ahead of the toss and lock early.
How to play in detail: the captain ledger and the credit ladder
The how to play path splits into two ladders. The credit ladder sets the ceiling on the XI. The captain ledger sets the multiplier. Each ladder is read separately and locked together before the squad lock. Reading only one ladder gives a half-built squad: a balanced XI with a captain who cannot win, or a captain pick that the credit cap cannot afford.
Reading the credit ladder
The credit cap is the total credits the squad can spend. The cap is published inside the app and may differ across formats. Top-order batters carry the highest credits on the roster; bench-tier bowlers and lower-order batters carry the lowest. The trick is to spend the credits across the XI rather than stack them on the captain pick. A captain pick that costs 11 credits leaves 99 credits for ten players; an 8-credit captain leaves 102. The 3-credit spread is the difference between a balanced XI and a thin one.
Reading the captain ledger
The captain ledger is a checklist of four reads: role fit, recent form, matchup, and boundary column. Role fit is the role that wins the format: pace bowler in ODI, top-order batter in Test, powerplay batter in T20. Recent form is the last completed series. Matchup is bowler-vs-batter, pace-vs-spin, right-hand-vs-left-hand. Boundary column is pitch, toss, format, dew, and the captain multiplier on the scoring table. Each read is verifiable against the BCCI / IPL feed and the published scoring table.
Locking the two ladders together
Build the XI first. Spend the credits across eleven players. Verify the role cap on app. Then read the captain ledger. Pick the captain armband and the vice-captain armband. Confirm the squad on app. The confirmation screen shows the credit spend, the role balance, and the captain / vice-captain picks. Each line is editable until the squad lock, which follows the toss. Build the squad ahead of the toss and lock early.
What this section does not cover
This section does not cover in-match substitutions, league-format substitution rules, or contest-specific override rules. The squad build covers the eleven players, the credit cap, and the role cap. The captain pick covers the multiplier. Substitution rules live on the dedicated contest detail screen and may differ across formats. Verify on app before locking.
What to do with this reference
Walk the nine-step path before your first contest. Read the credit ladder, then the captain ledger. Lock the squad before the toss. Verify on app and on the BCCI / IPL feed. Use practice contests to rehearse the captain logic before any paid contest; the practice leaderboard is solo and resets with each match.
How to play: the nine-step path from sign-up to the first stake
The nine-step path is: sign up, complete KYC, set a session cap, set a deposit cap, browse the contest list, build the XI, pick the captain, lock the squad, stake. Each step has a verification point and a boundary. Verify on app before moving to the next step.
Step 1 is sign up. The registered phone number is the recovery contact, so the device the account is bound to should be the device you carry day-to-day. Step 2 is KYC: PAN, Aadhaar, bank. The order is fixed. Step 3 is the session cap. Step 4 is the deposit cap.
Step 5 is the contest list. The list loads from the operator feed. Search, format filter and entry-bound filter are part of the client. Step 6 is the XI: 11 players, role cap, credit cap. Step 7 is the captain: role, recent form, matchup, boundary column.
Step 8 is squad lock. Squad lock follows the toss. Build the squad ahead of the toss so the lock window is not a problem. Step 9 is the stake. The stake takes the captain multiplier into account; the captain is the largest single swing in any contest.
What is the role cap?
The role cap is the maximum number of players from one role (WK, BAT, AR, BOWL). The cap is published inside the app and may differ across formats.
What is the credit cap?
The credit cap is the maximum total credits the squad can spend. The cap is published inside the app and may differ across formats.
When does the squad lock?
Squad lock follows the toss. Build the squad ahead of the toss so the lock window is not a problem.
Contest formats, verification path and the live feed
Each contest format sets its own entry bound, leaderboard size, captain multiplier, and squad lock cadence. Practice contests are solo and cost nothing, so they are the right place to rehearse the captain logic before staking. Head-to-head contests keep the slate small and the captain multiplier easy to weigh against the live feed. Mega league contests amplify variance; the captain multiplier swings the leaderboard more than the XI build.
The verification path on app
The app is the only authoritative source for the contest state, scoring state, KYC state, wallet state, leaderboard state, and responsible-play state. myteam11online.com complements the app; it does not replace it. Where the desk and the app disagree, the app is the source of truth. Each step in the nine-step path has a verification point inside the app: sign-in state, contest list state, squad build state, role cap state, captain pick state, lock state, and stake state.
The live feed
The live feed carries the toss decision, the squad announcement, the playing-XI confirmation, and the captain pick multiplier. The feed updates on the operator cadence, which is typically twice before the toss and continuously during the match. Verify the toss on app before the squad lock. Verify the captain multiplier on app before locking the armband. Verify the playing XI on app before the lock; a leaked XI is not a confirmed XI.
What the desk does not cover
This desk does not cover in-match substitutions, league-format substitution rules, or contest-specific override rules. Substitution rules live on the dedicated contest detail screen inside the app and may differ across formats and across operators. Where the desk and the app disagree, the app is the source of truth.
What to do next
Open the app. Walk the nine steps. Read the credit ladder, then the captain ledger. Lock the squad ahead of the toss. Verify on app and on the BCCI / IPL feed. Use practice contests to rehearse before any paid contest.
Walk the captain pick ledger before any paid contest
The captain pick ledger is the next reference on the desk. The ledger sets four reads: role fit, recent form, matchup, and boundary column. The ledger maps each read to a verifiable data source inside the app and on the BCCI / IPL feed. The ledger also lists the captain multiplier on the scoring table, which is the value the captain armband carries. Verify the multiplier on app before locking the armband.
The role fit read is the first filter. The role that wins the format is the role the captain should play. Top-order batter in Test. Pace bowler in ODI. Powerplay batter in T20. All-rounder in mixed formats. The fit is a soft constraint: the captain can come from any role, but the role that wins the format is the role that swings the leaderboard the most.
The recent form read is the second filter. Recent form is the cleanest signal because season stats include cold patches. The last completed series is the right window. The form read covers batting average, strike rate, dot-ball share, and death-over share. Verify each on the BCCI / IPL feed before applying.
The matchup read is the third filter. Bowler versus batter. Pace versus spin. Right-hand versus left-hand. The matchup data is published per series on the BCCI / IPL feed. A pace bowler against a right-hand-dominated batting order is the matchup that wins; a left-arm spinner against a right-hand-dominated order is the matchup that wins. The matchup is the tie-breaker between two role-fit candidates with similar form.
The boundary column is the fourth filter. Pitch, toss, format, dew, and the captain multiplier on the scoring table. Each condition can break the captain logic. A green pitch favours pace. A flat pitch favours batting. A slow pitch favours spin. A dew-laden evening favours the chasing side. Verify each on app before locking the armband.
Where the four reads agree, the captain pick is locked. Where the four reads disagree, walk the scoring table before locking. The scoring table is the source of truth for the captain multiplier. Verify on app before each contest.
The scoring table
The scoring table is the public record of every scoring event in a contest. Runs, boundaries, dot balls, wickets, catches, stumpings, run-outs, and the strike-rate bonus. Captain picks carry the multiplier shown on the table. Vice-captain picks carry a lower multiplier. The full table is published inside the app under each contest detail screen.
The strike-rate bonus is the most often missed rule. The strike-rate bonus pays on a threshold that depends on the run rate and the role. The threshold is published on the scoring table. Verify on app before locking the squad.
The economy-rate bonus is the bowler equivalent. The economy-rate threshold depends on the role and the format. A pace bowler in T20 carries a tighter economy threshold than a spinner in Test. Verify on the scoring table before locking.
What to do with this reference
Use this reference to walk the credit ladder and the captain ledger before each contest. Read the nine-step path. Read the captain pick ledger. Read the scoring table. Verify on app and on the BCCI / IPL feed. Lock the squad ahead of the toss. Rehearse in practice contests before any paid contest.
The squad lock in practice
Squad lock follows the toss. In the T20 format, the squad lock window is short, typically 15 to 30 minutes after the toss. In the ODI and Test formats, the squad lock window is longer because the toss happens earlier in the day. Build the squad ahead of the toss in every format; the lock window is a non-event for squads built early and a cliff for squads built late.
The captain multiplier is the largest single swing in any contest. A captain pick that scores 80 runs with the multiplier on the scoring table pays 160. A captain pick that scores 30 runs pays 60. The same XI with two different captains can finish in the top 1% or the middle of the leaderboard. The captain pick is the multiplier that swings the rank.
Where the desk and the app disagree
The desk and the app disagree on three things: the captain multiplier when the operator changes the table between contests, the credit cap when the operator adjusts for a new format, and the role cap when the operator adjusts for a tournament rule. Each disagreement is settled on app. The desk is updated when the operator updates the public record, which is typically on a weekly cadence.
